Ask Siri About the Photo on Your Frame
Ask about a photo’s date and place, show a memory, and start a saved slideshow with the new Photo Frame actions.

A photo on your frame can bring back a whole trip, but sometimes you cannot quite remember where you took it. Digital Photo Frame can now help with that while the photo is still on screen.
There are a few new ways to use Siri and Shortcuts with your frame. Here is what they do.
“When was this photo taken?”
While a photo is displayed, you can ask Siri when or where it was taken. The app can share the available date, place and album information. Apple Intelligence can also use the photo on screen when you ask about it on a supported device.
The information comes from the photo. If a picture has no saved location, the app cannot give you a location from its metadata. That is especially useful to remember with old scans or images someone sent you.

Show a memory
Show a Memory brings up a photo taken on this day in an earlier year. You can reach it from Siri or Spotlight.
It is a small way to enjoy something already in your library. You do not have to choose an album and look through the dates yourself.

Start a slideshow with one tap
There is also a new Play Slideshow control. Choose a saved slideshow once, then put the control in Control Center or on your Lock Screen. On a compatible iPhone, you can use it with the Action button too.
If your iPad normally sits on a stand as a frame, this gives you a quick way to start the slideshow you want.
A little help with the name
When renaming a saved slideshow, Suggest a Name can use Apple Intelligence to help you choose a title. You can keep it, change it or write your own.
The Apple Intelligence features depend on a supported device and Apple Intelligence being enabled. The frame itself still works on the older devices the app supports.
If you have a suggestion for something else you would like to ask your frame, please write to me. Feedback is always welcomed.
